    Abdominal Massage for Women’s Health

Abdominal massage is a traditional component of Oriental Medicine and has long been held to promote healing on a deep level within the body’s organs and subtle systems. It’s often used in conjunction with fertility treatment or for women who are experiencing gynecological or hormonal problems. It’s a deeply therapeutic healing complement to acupuncture and the other modalities we practice at ilumina, and our bodyworkers are trained specialists in this unique form of care.

Abdominal massage works by gently manipulating the positioning of the body’s organs in a non-invasive manner, which brings them to their optimal alignment and in turn shifts and improves blood flow, lymph flow, and nerve and qi energy. The ultimate goal of abdominal massage is to restore a holistic balance to the body, promoting health and wellbeing and a sense of calm. The deep de-stressing effects of this type of bodywork are healing in and of themselves. Sessions impart a sense of wellbeing and, often, cathartic release.

Mayan Abdominal Massage can benefit: painful or irregular periods and/or ovulation, headaches or migraine with menses, varicose veins, or tired, weak legs, low back pain; pain with menses, Endometriosis, Uterine Fibroids, Uterine Polyps, difficulty getting pregnant/infertility, displaced or prolapsed uterus or bladder, scar tissue from previous abdominal surgery, chronic constipation, and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
