Catherine Travis is a state and national board certified acupuncturist. She received her bachelor’s degree from San Francisco College for Women and trained in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, WA, where she received her Master’s degree in Acupuncture.
Catherine has served as the Dean of Clinical Studies at the Oregon College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and as the Director of Continuing Education at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine both master’s degree programs in acupuncture and Asian medicine. Here in Arizona, she was Clinic Director of the Arizona School of Acupuncture in Tucson. She was a board member of the Washington State Board of Acupuncture.
Catherine’s has always had a lifelong love for learning. In addition to her continued advanced studies in acupuncture, she has been a faculty member in master’s degree programs teaching both Advanced Acupuncture and Clinical Skills with a special emphasis in acute and chronic pain. At the University of Washington’s Harborview Hospital and Medical Clinic in Seattle, she taught acupuncture interns in two chronic pain clinics. At the University of Arizona, she provided in-service training for physicians and nurses and acted as the acupuncture and Chinese Medicine consultant to Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D.
