Case Study: High blood pressure and burning mouth syndrome
A 63-year-old female came in with high blood pressure and burning mouth syndrome. She was experiencing high levels of stress. Her tongue felt hot with burning worst at night.
Chinese Medicine treatment:
Weekly treatments where given to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and reduce the burning tongue. Dietary changes where made to help lower blood pressure. Also, mindfulness meditation was advised to help manage stress.
Immediately after the insertion of needles the burning tongue symptoms vanished, and after continued treatment the burning mouth syndrome was completely cured. Within two months of treatment the blood pressure was within normal range. She found mindfulness mediation to be helpful, and also started Yoga Nidra.
