APIT utilizes East Asian Medicine’s meridian system by injecting of a small amount of sterile plant extract, homeopathic medicine, vitamins and other regenerative therapeutics at acupuncture points therefore obtaining a dual effect of acu-point stimulation and the pharmacological effect of the substance injected.
Dr. Price was first taught APIT during her gynecology internship in China at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997. During her internship she learned about and practiced injecting various therapeutic Chinese herbs into specific acupuncture points to treat endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, pelvic pain, and uterine bleeding. At ilumina we are excited to be one of the few clinics in Arizona to offer APIT to our patients. APIT is best used in conjunction with a traditional acupuncture visit but can also be used alone.
