Dr. Price and Tracy Eldevick LMT

This has been a fun opportunity to interview one of our own.  Tracy Eldevick has been a part of the ilumina family since 2012.  You recognize her from the front desk but over the past few years she has also played another role here at the clinic as our massage therapist.  She has been licensed since 2001 and has been able to fill this spot seamlessly with her experience as a therapist and her expansive knowledge of our patient population.

Please tell me about your business?

Yes, I have been an employee here at ilumina for a long time.  When I started we had Audrey here as our massage therapist and she was gifted.  When she left we looked around for someone but what we realized is that what I had to offer was the right fit for our patient population.  So, I carve out a little bit of time each week to be able to provide massage therapies that are specifically helpful to our patients.  I have continued to add to my expertise with continuing education in fertility, prenatal, lymphatics, and also adding Arvigo® abdominal massage to my tool box

How and why did you start it?

I originally pursued massage as a career after finishing college because I wanted to work with athletes.  I found that I really loved working with people.  I was fascinated by the human body and how bodywork could be a way to positively connect with other people and help them feel better.  I then went to work in the spa world and unexpectedly fell in love with it.  After moving to Arizona, I was needing to find a work environment that balanced my life and that is when I found ilumina.  Dr. Price has created such a beautiful space and the mission of providing compassionate care has always resonated.  When I had the opportunity to move from behind the desk into the treatment room and to participate in our patients journey on a different level I found a way to apply my talents for the benefit of the clinic.

What have you learned along the way?
I have learned so much.  I have learned to trust my intuition and how to be present for our patients.

How can your business benefit our patient base?
There aren’t many massage therapists out there specializing in women’s health and fertility.  With my training and certifications I can provide another modality that can help women connect with their bodies, to optimize balance in the body systems, and to help them reach their health goals.  Most recently I participated in some training from the Arvigo® Institute and became a Arvigo® Belly Care Provider.  Arvigo® mayan abdominal massage is a type of massage with a beautiful lineage.  It has been passed down in Belize from Don Elijio Panti to Dr. Rosita Arvigo who has since taken this work to the world.  It has long been the gold standard in the world of fertility massage.  I am privileged to have had the opportunity to train with those who carry on this work.  Abdominal massage can be very powerful.  I look at it as fine tuning the whole body, to bring systems into balance, and provide any woman with an opportunity to connect with and honor what her body is capable of.

Anything else you would like to add?
It has been such an amazing journey to be a part of ilumina, to work along side of Dr. Price and the amazing practitioners here.  I have learned so much being here and have loved spending my life watching the amazing paths our patients have taken in building their families and reaching their health goals.
